3 Days from Chefchaouen to Marrakesh Via Merzouga

Start your day with a delicious breakfast at your riad in Chefchaouen before setting off towards Midelt City. Along the way, make a stop at Meknes, a historic city known for its impressive architecture and rich cultural heritage. From there, journey through the scenic landscapes of the Middle Atlas Mountains, marveling at the natural beauty that surrounds you.

Pause at Azrou, a picturesque Berber village nestled within the renowned cedar forest, the largest in Morocco. Here, you might have the opportunity to encounter Barbary apes in their natural habitat, adding a touch of wildlife to your journey.

Continuing on, traverse the splendid hills and mountains of the Atlas range as you make your way to Midelt. Spend the night in this charming city, surrounded by the stunning scenery of the Atlas  Mountains.

Start your day with a delightful traditional breakfast at your hotel in Midelt. Then, venture towards the Ziz Valley and Ziz Gorge, marveling at their breathtaking beauty. Ascend into the High Atlas Mountains, where you’ll be greeted by stunning vistas before descending along the winding road carved by the Ziz River into the captivating Moroccan desert.

Admire the panoramic views of the mesmerizing gorges and valleys adorned with expansive date palm groves as you make your way. Pass through Erfoud, where Morocco’s rich fossil fields and quarries await your exploration.

Continue your journey to the Berber village of Merzouga, the gateway to Morocco’s majestic Sahara Desert and the enchanting Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, embark on a memorable camel ride into the dunes, where you’ll witness the breathtaking sunset over the desert horizon.

Spend the night camping in the comfort of a private Berber tent, immersing yourself in the tranquility of the desert under the starry night sky.

On the final day of our desert tour from Marrakech to Fez, we bid farewell to the serene desert landscape as our camels gracefully carry us back to Merzouga. From there, we embark on a journey towards one of the world’s cleanest and most captivating cities.

Ifrane, affectionately known as “Little Switzerland” within Morocco, awaits nestled high in the Atlas Mountains, where winter snowfall is not uncommon. You’ll have the opportunity to savor lunch in Ifrane, or depending on the schedule, we may opt to stop over in the picturesque Ziz Valley.
